Comments

Juveniles and small specimens that match Ruff's description of M. scriptoria (and generic placement currently accepted by SCAMIT) is questionable. Most small specimens and some larger do have transverse rows of spinules on notosetae and otherwise match Rufff's descripton. Median spinules in many larger specimens may be worn off or bound to the shaft when produced in adults.
